Arts Education Grants

The Arts Education / Local Capacity Building Grant Program is a funding program administered by the Dutchess County Arts Council to local schools seeking to bring teaching artists into their classrooms. This program is funded and supported by the Local Capacity Building Initiative of the Arts in Education Program at the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).

2012 Application Deadline Passed

The Project Grant Program is a re-grant program of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and designed to promote local community-based arts and culture in Dutchess & Ulster Counties. Last year these grants ranged from $700 to $2,500.  The average 2011 award was approximately $1,700.

The Arts Fund Individual Artists’ Fellowship Program has been established to provide support to individuals living in Dutchess County who are in the developmental phase of a career as a creative artist.  Modeled after the Individual Artists’ Fellowship Program of the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA), these awards are geared toward supporting artists’ career development, rather than project support.

Nominations for
2011 Youth Awards

Deadline Passed

The Arts Council is currently soliciting nominations from the community for the 2011 Youth With Exceptional Promise in the Arts Award.  Nominees must be a   Dutchess County high school senior, as of September 2011.   All arts disciplines eligible, including visual, performing, literary, film/video, and computer, among others.

Nomination Process

The nominator should demonstrate the youth’s achievement and promise, and evolving commitment to his/her art over time by submitting the following:

Ulster County Cultural Services and Promotion Fund

2012 Application and Deadline coming soon.

The Ulster County Fund is dedicated to capacity building and strategic collaborations within the arts community in Ulster County. Financial resources for this program have been provided by the Ulster County Legislature. Since 2008, these funds have been made available to nonprofit arts and cultural organizations incorporated in Ulster County. Established nonprofit organizations, working in all arts disciplines, are eligible to apply for funding.
