Yvonne Laube leads this paper-cutting workshop, ideal for beginners, with an folk-art/Victorian Valentines theme. The workshop begins with a brief visual history of papercutting from around the world.

Using an Xacto craft knife and cutting mat, Yvonne will then demonstrate step-by-step the basic techniques of knife paper-cutting, before introducing a selection of simple Valentines themed templates to work with. Valentines were a popular love tokens in the mid-19th Century in Pennsylvania Dutch communities.

Paper-cutting can be a beautiful addition to other craft activities, including scrap-booking, card making and stenciling.
