About the Teaching Artist: Karen Maserjian Shan is a communications professional, editor, and writer with an expertise in connecting people and businesses with each other through written communications in print and digital platforms. She has written more than 1,500 news articles for print and digital publications, plus social media posts, marketing materials and reports, and currently is a senior associate with the public relations firm, C.C. Sullivan. Ms. Shan is a co-founder of Children’s Writers of the Hudson Valley, and a past committee member of Arts Mid-Hudson, the Millbrook Literary Festival and the New York: Eastern Upstate Chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
